திருப்பாவை என்றாலே கிருஷ்ணாவதாரம் குறித்து பாடப்படுவது தான். அதிலே முதல் பத்து, அடுத்த பத்து, அதற்கடுத்த பத்து என மூன்று பிரிவாக்கி அதற்குள் ஒரு பாடலில் வாமன அவதாரத்தை பாடுகிறாள் ஆண்டாள். திருமாலின் பாதம் பட்டால் மோட்சம் நிச்சயம். 

அதனால், அதை உத்தம அவதாரம் என்று போற்றுகிறாள். பகவானை வணங்கினால் எல்லா வளமும் சித்திக்கும் என்பதும் ஆண்டாளின் அனுக்கிரஹமாக இருக்கிறது. 

இந்தப் பாடல் திருக்கோவிலூர் (விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டம்) உலகளந்த பெருமாளைக் குறித்து பாடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஓங்கி உலகளந்த 

உத்தமர் பேர் பாடி
நாங்கள் நம் பாவைக்குச் 

சாற்றி நீர் ஆடினால்

தீங்கின்றி நாடெல்லம் 

திங்கள் மும்மாரி பெய்து
ஓங்கு பெருஞ் செந்நெல் 

ஊடு கயல் உகளப்

பூங்குவளைப் போதில் 

பொறி வண்டு கண் படுப்பத்
தேங்காதே புக்கிருந்து 

சீர்த்த முலை பற்றி

வாங்கக் குடம் நிறைக்கும் 

வள்ளல் பெரும் பசுக்கள்
நீங்காத செல்வம் 

நிறைந்தேலோர் எம்பாவாய்...

பொருள்:

✬ சிறுமியரே! நம் பரந்தாமன் வாமன அவதாரத்தில் மூன்றடிகளால் விண்ணையும் மண்ணையும் அளந்து தன்னுடையதாக்கிக் கொண்ட உத்தமன்.

✬ அவனது சிறப்பைக் குறித்து பாடி, நம் பாவைக்கு மலர்கள் சாத்தி வழிபடுவதற்கு முன் நீராடச் செல்வோம். 

✬  இந்த விரதமிருப்பதால், உலகம் முழுவதும் மாதம் மும்முறை மழை பெய்து தண்ணீர் இல்லாத குறையைப் போக்கும். மழை காரணமாக வயல்களில் செந்நெல் செழித்து வளரும். 

✬ மீன்கள் வயலுக்குள் பாய்ந்தோடி மகிழும். குவளை மலர்களில் புள்ளிகளையுடைய வண்டுகள் தேன் குடிக்க வந்து கிறங்கிக் கிடக்கும். வள்ளல் போன்ற பசுக்கள் பாலை நிரம்பத்தரும். என்றும் வற்றாத செல்வத்தை இந்த விரதம் தரும்.

Meaning :

✬ Referrring to the Lord as the One who rose to the Viswaroopa form and measured the three worlds with three giant strides during the Vamana Avatar, in this third stanza, Andal describes the good that will follow when during this prayer, we all sing the praise of the names of the Lord during the Margazhi Nonbu.

✬ All throughout the nation, without any disaster(floods), we will have adequate rains during all the months, the crops will flourish making the fields of tall well grown paddy lively with the fish jumping around, honey bees gently sleeping in the beautiful flowers, the big cows, like great philanthropists will fill the pots with milk from their abundant udders and in all prosperity and plenty will fill the lives of the devotees who are performing this prayers.

✬ Andal cited the measures of prosperity in these terms in the days that she lived. And the everlasting wealth that she is alluding to as we will discover later is really the Grace of the Lord.
