॥ Sri Vaidyanāthāṣṭakam ॥
|| श्री वैद्यनाथाष्टकम् ||
॥ ஶ்ரீ வைத்³யநாதா²ஷ்டகம் ॥
Sree rama soumithri jatayu veda,
Shadanadithya kujarchithya,
Sree neelakandaya daya mayaya,
Sree vaidyanathaya namasivaya. | 1 |
श्रीरामसौमित्रि जटायुवेद
षडाननादित्य कुजार्चिताय ।
श्रीनीलकण्ठाय दयामयाय
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमःशिवाय ॥ १॥
ஶ்ரீராம ஸௌமித்ரி ஜடாயுவேத³
ஷடா³நநாதி³த்ய குஜார்சிதாய ।
ஶ்ரீநீலகண்டா²ய த³யாமயாய
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம:ஶிவாய ॥ 1॥
Trilochanaya smara kala hanthre,
Samstha devairapi poojithaya,
Sree vaidyanathata namasivaya. | 2 |
गङ्गाप्रवाहेन्दु जटाधराय
त्रिलोचनाय स्मर कालहन्त्रे ।
समस्त देवैरभिपूजिताय
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ २॥
க³ங்கா³ ப்ரவாஹேந்து³ ஜடாதராய
த்ரிலோசநாய ஸ்மர காலஹந்த்ரே ।
ஸமஸ்த தே³வைரபிபூஜிதாய
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 2॥
I salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the Supreme Physician, who adorns the flowing Ganges and the moon on his head, who has three eyes, who destroyed God of Love (Manmatha) and death (Yama), and who is worshipped by all Devas.
Bhaktha priyaya, tripuranthakaya,
Pinakine dushta haraya nithyam,
Prathyaksha leelaya manushya loke,
Sree vaidyanathaya namasivaya. | 3 |
भक्तःप्रियाय त्रिपुरान्तकाय
पिनाकिने दुष्टहराय नित्यम् ।
प्रत्यक्षलीलाय मनुष्यलोके
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ३॥
பக்த:ப்ரியாய த்ரிபுராந்தகாய
பிநாகிநே து³ஷ்டஹராய நித்யம் ।
ப்ரத்யக்ஷலீலாய மநுஷ்யலோகே
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 3॥
I salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the Supreme Physician, who loves his devotees, who destroyed the three cities, (the tripuras) who holds the bow called pinaka, the destroyer of the wicked, who conducts His sport on this planet earth, in this world of Humans, by destroying the wicked always.
Pinakine dushta haraya nithyam,
Prathyaksha leelaya manushya loke,
Sree vaidyanathaya namasivaya. | 3 |
भक्तःप्रियाय त्रिपुरान्तकाय
पिनाकिने दुष्टहराय नित्यम् ।
प्रत्यक्षलीलाय मनुष्यलोके
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ३॥
பக்த:ப்ரியாய த்ரிபுராந்தகாய
பிநாகிநே து³ஷ்டஹராய நித்யம் ।
ப்ரத்யக்ஷலீலாய மநுஷ்யலோகே
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 3॥

प्रभूतवातादि समस्तरोग
प्रनाशकर्त्रे मुनिवन्दिताय ।
प्रभाकरेन्द्वग्नि विलोचनाय
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ४॥
ப்ரபூதவாதாதி³ ஸமஸ்தரோக³
ப்ரநாஶகர்த்ரே முநிவந்தி³தாய ।
ப்ரபாகரேந்த்³வக்³நி விலோசநாய
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 4॥
I Salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the Supreme Physician, who cures all dieseases, like rheumatism and arthritis, who is worshipped by all sages, who has the sun, moon and the fire as his Three eyes.
वाक् श्रोत्र नेत्राङ्घ्रि विहीनजन्तोः
वाक्श्रोत्र नेत्रांघ्रि सुखप्रदाय ।
कुष्ठादि सर्वोन्नत रोगहन्त्रे
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ५॥

वाक्श्रोत्र नेत्रांघ्रि सुखप्रदाय ।
कुष्ठादि सर्वोन्नत रोगहन्त्रे
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ५॥
வாக் ஶ்ரோத்ர நேத்ராங்க்ரி விஹீநஜந்தோ:
வாக்ஶ்ரோத்ர நேத்ராங்க்ரி ஸுக²ப்ரதா³ய ।
குஷ்டா²தி³ ஸர்வோந்நத ரோக³ஹந்த்ரே
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 5॥
வாக்ஶ்ரோத்ர நேத்ராங்க்ரி ஸுக²ப்ரதா³ய ।
குஷ்டா²தி³ ஸர்வோந்நத ரோக³ஹந்த்ரே
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 5॥
I Salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the supreme physician, who blesses all those who have lost their sense of speech, sight, hearing, and movement, giving them comfort and well being and provides cure for debilitating diseases like leprosy, etc.,
Vedantha vedhyaya jagan mayaya,
Yogiswara dhyeya Padambujaya,
Trimurthy roopaya sahasra namne,
Sri vaidyanathaya nama sivaya. | 6 |
वेदान्तवेद्याय जगन्मयाय
योगीश्वरद्येय पदाम्बुजाय ।
त्रिमूर्तिरूपाय सहस्रनाम्ने
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ६॥
வேதா³ந்த வேத்³யாய ஜக³ந்மயாய
யோகீ³ஶ்வரத்³யேய பதா³ம்பு³ஜாய ।
த்ரிமூர்திரூபாய ஸஹஸ்ரநாம்நே
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 6॥
I Salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the supreme physician, who is realised only through tenets of Vedanta, who dwells throughout the universe, who has lotus feet, who is meditated upon by the sages, who is triumvirate form of creation, sustenance and destruction and who has a thousand names.
Swatheertha mrudbasma brudanga bajam,
Pisacha dukha arthi bhayapahaya,
Athma swaroopaya sareera bajaam,
Sri Vaidyanaathaya namasivaya. | 7 |
स्वतीर्थमृद्भस्मभृताङ्गभाजां
पिशाचदुःखार्तिभयापहाय ।
आत्मस्वरूपाय शरीरभाजां
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ७॥
ஸ்வதீர்த² ம்ருʼத்³ பஸ்ம ப்ருʼதாங்க³ பாஜாம்
பிஶாசது:³ கா²ர்திபயாபஹாய ।
ஆத்மஸ்வரூபாய ஶரீரபாஜாம்
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 7॥
I salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the supreme physician, who removes all sufferings caused by evil spirits, sorrow, afflicted by fears etc., by a dip in his holy tank, by application of the holy ash of his temple and by the earth below the Neem tree in the temple, He constitutes the soul (Atman) of all those who have attained the human body.
Sarakkanda basmadhya abhi shobithaya,
Suputhradarathi subagyathaya,
Sri vaidyanathaya nama sivaya. | 8 |
श्रीनीलकण्ठाय वृषध्वजाय
स्रक्गन्ध भस्माद्यभिशोभिताय ।
सुपुत्रदारादि सुभाग्यदाय
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ८॥
ஶ்ரீநீலகண்டா²ய வ்ருʼஷத்வஜாய
ஸ்ரக்க³ந்த பஸ்மாத்³யபி ஶோபிதாய ।
ஸுபுத்ரதா³ராதி³ ஸுபாக்³யதா³ய
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 8॥
|| Iti Shri Vaidyanatha Ashtakam ||
स्रक्गन्ध भस्माद्यभिशोभिताय ।
सुपुत्रदारादि सुभाग्यदाय
श्रीवैद्यनाथाय नमः शिवाय ॥ ८॥
ஶ்ரீநீலகண்டா²ய வ்ருʼஷத்வஜாய
ஸ்ரக்க³ந்த பஸ்மாத்³யபி ஶோபிதாய ।
ஸுபுத்ரதா³ராதி³ ஸுபாக்³யதா³ய
ஶ்ரீவைத்³யநாதா²ய நம: ஶிவாய ॥ 8॥
I Salute that Lord Shiva, in the form of Vaidyanatha, the supreme physician, who has blue neck, who has bull in his flag, (the Nandi) who shines adorning sacred ash, flowers and sandal paste, who blesses with good children and good spouse and all good fortune.
One who recites with devotion the three holy names of Lord Shiva, viz, Balambikesha (consort of Balambika), Vaidyesha (Lord Vaidyanatha) and Bhavaroga-hara (the remover of fear of birth and death), will be cured of all diseases.

Bava roga haredisa |
Japen nama thrayam nithyam
Maha roga Nivaranam ||
बालाम्बिकेश वैद्येश
भवरोगहरेति च ।
जपेन्नामत्रयं नित्यं
महारोगनिवारणम् ॥ ९॥
பாலாம்பி³கேஶ வைத்³யேஶ
பவரோக³ஹரேதி ச ।
ஜபேந்நாம த்ரயம் நித்யம்
மஹாரோக³நிவாரணம் ॥ 9॥
One who recites with devotion the three holy names of Lord Shiva, viz, Balambikesha (consort of Balambika), Vaidyesha (Lord Vaidyanatha) and Bhavaroga-hara (the remover of fear of birth and death), will be cured of all diseases.
॥ इति श्री वैद्यनाथाष्टकम् ॥
॥ இதி ஶ்ரீ வைத்³யநாதா²ஷ்டகம் ॥
